Mr. Alfred James Tuttle, 81, of the Midway Community, passed on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Brooks Temple United Methodist Church with visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service.
He was born January 12, 1935, to Coleman Tuttle and Mable Eller Tuttle in Davidson County. He retired from Dixie Furniture and was a member of Brooks Temple UMC and United Methodist Men.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cecil A. Tuttle; four brothers: Percy Moore, George, Russell and James Tuttle and five sisters: Annie Leonard, Rosetta Lindsay, Irene Greer, Dora Mitchell and Thelma Banks.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Smith Tuttle of the home; three sons: Donald S. Tuttle of Lexington, Nathan (Paula) Tuttle of Midway, Thomas V. Tuttle of Winston-Salem; three daughters: Janice T. Peoples of Lexington, Robin (Baxter, Sr.) Lindsay of Midway and Gail T. Glenn of the home; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Tuttle of Clemmons; a sister-in-law, Betty Mae Tuttle of Midway; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two adopted children, Lamar Nunnery of Thomasville and Rev. Sherise (Antonio) Lindsay; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
