Obituary

Alice Mae Gilley Bowens was born in Davidson County on June 13, 1937, to Joel Gilley, Sr. and Ruby Brown Duncan. On March 21, 2017, she passed away at her residence.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 1:30p.m. at Shady Side Presbyterian Church with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service.

She retired from Lexington Health Care as a CNA. She was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Catherine Gilley and two brothers: David Waldon and Joel Gilley, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Mitchell and Anthony (Vanessa) Jimmson; two daughters, Rozelia (Anthony) Pate and Alice Faye McKnight; two step sons, Johnnie Pressley and Anthony Robinson; five brothers: Larry (Peggy) Gilley, Bryce (Charlotta) Gilley, Terry (Debbie) Gilley, Billy Joe (Gladys) Gilley and Gary Gilley; two sisters, Peggy (Roy) Wagner and Betty (Tim) Jones, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
