Mrs. Allie Mae Ricks Holt, 79, of Moore Drive, departed this life peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, following a brief illness.

Born on December 15, 1946, in Davidson County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Rosa Ricks Goodson and the late George Goodson.

Affectionately known as "Mae," she was a proud 1965 graduate of Dunbar High School. She faithfully worked for many years at Lexington Home Brands until her retirement. Mae was known for her vibrant personality and joyful spirit. She was truly the life of the party, always enjoying music, dancing, laughter, and spending time with those she loved. Her home and heart were always open, and her grandchildren, along with their friends, affectionately adored their beloved "Granny Mae."

Mae was a faithful member of Files Chapel Baptist Church, where she worshipped and enjoyed fellowship with her church family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sylvester Holt; her daughter, Selana Holt; and two cherished friends, Jan Lindsay and Margaret Buggs.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving mother, Rosa Goodson; two granddaughters, Kayla Mahoney and Kelsey Holt; Keanah King and Javier Holloway, whom she loved as grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Levi Holt Mahoney, Allie Crump-Mahoney, and Kinsley Hudson; two sisters, Marlena Ricks and Myra (Rev. Donald) Holt; one brother, Steve Perkins; a special nephew, Kieran Ricks; her beloved goddaughter, Tekeshia Owens; four sisters-in-law, Ruth H. Small, Patricia Holt, Sylvia H. (Timothy) Hargrave and Elnora H. Nance; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, and beautiful memories Mae shared with family and friends will remain in their hearts forever.
