Alton Cutis Mintz was born in Shelby, North Carolina to the late William Mintz and Macie McCluney Mintz on Mach 10, 1943. He departed this life peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

He was educated in the public school system and attended Camp School. Alton was the owner of Mintz Tree Service in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Dean Mintz.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Lynda Mintz; a daughter, Ashley Mintz; sons: Alton Mintz, Jr., Anthony Mintz, Algon Mintz, Andre Mintz (Rebecca) and Neal Mintz (Cecily); eight grandchildren, a great grandchild; six sisters: Mary Long, Johnnie Randall (Leo) both of Washington, DC, Majorie Maddox (Franklin) of Shelby, NC, Dr. Doris Clawson of Concord, NC, Macie Petty (Dwight) of Shelby, NC and Patricia Littlejohn (Bishop Willie) of Wake Forest, NC; a brother, James Mintz (Ethel) of Seat Pleasant, MD; an aunt, Ruby Harris of Washington, DC; an uncle, Amos McCluney (Gladys); brother-in-law, Reginald Sutton; sisters-in-law: Gail Boyd, Dr. Veronica Bates (Roberts), Wanda Weathers and Regina Anderson (James); dearest devoted niece, Nekie Boyd; special god-children, Deanna and Anthony Douglas; spiritual mother, Dr. Gwendolyn Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeralservice will be Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:00am at New Bethel Church of God in Christ Charlotte, NC.Burial will follow at York Memorial Park.
