Mr. Alvin Bobo, 87, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 while a patient at Pine Acres Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in Ware Shoals, South Carolina to Lamberth Bobo and Elizabeth Beets Martin Bobo on August 17, 1935.
Deacon Bobo was a faithful member of Files Chapel Baptist Church until his health began to decline. He served on the Deacon board for over 55 years and sang with the men's choir. He made the unleavened bread for communion for many years. He retired from Mid-State Tile. Mr. Alvin was a handy carpentry man who enjoyed building and repairing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Bobo; a sister, Mary B. Richards; and seven brothers: George, Leonard, Willie, Thomas, Truman, Robert and L.B. Bobo.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving and devoted wife, Carrie Mae Bobo; four sons: Alvin Bobo, Jr., Michael (Shirley) Bobo, James (Sis. Wendy) Bobo and Brian (Gloria) Bobo; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great- grandchildren; four sisters: Pearlee McMillian, Kathleen (Carlton, Sr.) Pittman, Vernice Lindsay and Fannie Mae Yarbrough and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The celebration of life service for Deacon Bobo will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00am at Files Chapel Baptist Church with family visitation at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
