Anthony
Bush
July 27, 1962 – June 4, 2026
Anthony Lavon Bush, affectionately known as “AB,” was born on July 27, 1962, in Davidson County, North Carolina, to Emanuel Bush Sr. and Armie Jean Terrell Bush. He departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Anthony was educated in the Davidson County School System. He was employed with Simrel Plumbing & Hauling, where he was known for his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic.
A devoted family man and mentor, Anthony found great joy in coaching little league football, softball, and baseball. He especially treasured the opportunity to coach his sons throughout the years, creating lasting memories both on and off the field. His passion for sports, guidance, and encouragement positively impacted many young lives within the community. Anthony often reflected on his own experiences playing baseball, basketball, and football, and he took pride in mentoring the younger generation.
Anthony was well known for hosting family gatherings and serving as the master chef for every holiday and special occasion. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching a variety of sports, spending time with family and friends, and socializing with those he loved. He was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, Miami Dolphins, and Duke Blue Devils, and he proudly traveled near and far to support his sons as they competed in sporting events.
His love for music was unmatched, especially when it came to playing the drums with family and friends. Anthony was a man who never hesitated to speak his mind or share his thoughts and opinions. That honesty was one of the many ways he expressed his love and care for those around him. Above all else, he loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Janet F. Bush; two sons, Stephen D. Bush and Joshua (Kristen) Bush; five beloved grandchildren, Ashtyn Smith Bush, Braylon Bush, Hennessey Bush, Jordy Bush, and Onyx Bush; his parents, Armie Jean Bush and Emanuel Bush Sr.; one brother, Emanuel Bush Jr.; two sisters, Sherry Lindsay and Vanessa Smith; one brother-in-law, Eugene Ferguson; one sister-in-law, Yvette Kimbel; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and dear friends.
Anthony’s love for his family, commitment to his community, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply.
