Archie Leon Blue, Sr., 54, of Galaxy Court, Winston Salem, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Trellis Supportive Care - Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He was born on January 8, 1968 to Abraham Blue, Sr. and Catherine Shipman Blue in Forsyth, North Carolina.
He received his formal education from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public Schools and attended East Forsyth High School. Soon after, he pursued culinary arts and became an incredible chef, a vocation in which he took much pride. Archie went on to work at numerous restaurants in the triad including Darryl's and Golden Corral.
Archie was a devoted father and grandfather. He was no stranger to living in the moment. He was full of energy and loved to spend time with his friends and family. His contagious laughter was undeniable and always uplifted a room. Archie was raised in St. John Baptist Church and remained a spiritual man throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Archie was preceded in death by his wife, Wandretta Williams Blue; his father, Abraham Blue, Sr.; and his brothers, John Blue and Thurmond Blue.
Those left to cherish is memory include his mother, Catherine Shipman Blue; his children: Archie Blue, Jr., Ashley Blue and Shakura Blue Revels; his stepchildren: Tasha Davis and Twakeylla Williams; his grandchildren: Kedrick Dunlap, Jr., Takiree Fisher, Kezian Gales, Sanaa Revels, Ka'Son Revels, and Azora Blue; his siblings: Abraham Blue, Jr., Sheryl Blue, Alice Blue, Lummie Blue, Phylis (Johnny) Cowins, and Lena Blue; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives, and many, many, friends. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a lifelong, devoted friend, Viola Miller Thompson.
Homegoing services celebrating his life will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel. Mr. Blue will lie in repose on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
