Arlene Cunningham McMillon was born on June 13, 1955 in Stanly County, North Carolina to Sandy Frank Owens and Pearl Virgil Cunningham Brown. She departed this life on April 25, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Arlene was a proud graduate of North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina. She dedicated her career to caring for others, working at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. A woman of deep faith, she was of the Baptist tradition.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harry Lee Brown and Tommy Cunningham; and two sisters, Dena Garrett and Ella Mae Garrett.
Arlene leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Curtis McMillon; four sons: David A. Cunningham, Dexter E. Greene, Jr., Jamil A. (Whitney) Greene, and Donald Cunningham; one daughter, Constance R. Cunningham; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Earlene Cunningham, Betty Brown, Jennifer Brown, Rose Mary Harrison, Sandra Owens and Felicia Owens; brothers: Ray Cunningham, Harold Lee (Donna) Brown, and Stacy Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Parkers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
