The sun set on June 29th for our Family's Matriarch, Barbara Abbott ,85, of Clinton, Maryland. Barbara was born in Winston-Salem, NC on February 27, 1940.

Even though she spent the majority of her years in Maryland, she considered Winston-Salem home and never missed an opportunity to travel home to see her family. Barbara adored her family. She had no problem telling you what was on her mind, and her laugh was contagious. Barbara graduated from Atkins High School in 1958 and attended McLean Business College. She retired from Household Finance.
We will greatly miss our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Raymond Stewart of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Eloise Bonner of Winston-Salem, NC; and brother-in-law, Vernell McGregor.

Barbara leaves to deeply mourn, her husband of 66 years, Bobby Abbott, Sr.; three sons: Bobby Abbott, Jr., Darryl (Rosanna) Abbott and Dwanye Abbott all of Clinton, MD; her grandchildren, Amia Abbott and John John Sieh II; great-grandchildren: Ayden Price, Ayce Price and John Sieh III. Barbara was a bonus grandmother to T.J., Duece, and Alysha of Clinton, MD, and the godmother of Constance Caldwell of Winston-Salem, NC. She also leaves to mourn her passing two beloved sisters, Jennette McGregor and Constance Russell, both of Winston-Salem, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family and friends.

Barbara's life will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Eastside Church of Christ with visitation at 1:00 PM prior to service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
