Barbara Ann Shavers

Barbara Ann Shavers, 59, passed on January 15th at the hospital. She was born September 29, 1962 to the late Catherine Gaither Shaw and the late Joe A. Shavers, in Winston-Salem, NC. She attended the WS/FC Schools and graduated from North Forsyth High School. She later moved to Salisbury, NC, where she attended Providence AME Zion Church. After moving back to Winston she joined True Temple Outreach Ministry, her Uncle's church, where she served as an Usher.

One thing that Barbara loved was enjoying her family, when she could, laughing and having a good time. She enjoyed life. That's what she loved to do.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her younger sister, Charisse Shavers "Resse", and 2 grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory 1 daughter, LaShonndia Shavers "Tootsie"; 2 sons, Fred Miller, and Donnell Shavers; niece, Miracle Shavers, who she took care of; 2 sisters, Cassandra Shavers, and Jeneria Shepherd (Anthony); and 1 brother, Archie Shavers. 1 Grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Homegoing services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem) with family visitation at 2:00 P. M. prior to the service. Interment will take place in Mt. Gur Cemetery. Public viewing will take place Friday, January 28, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In every effort to protect our client families, sanitizing, facial coverings and or masks are required for the service.
