Bernice Hearst Bussey Bush was born on January 13, 1951 in Lincolnton, Georgia to the late Coleman Bussey and Lessie Mae Hearst Bussey. On Tuesday, October 29, 2025, she peacefully transitioned from labor to reward at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center.

Bernice was a devoted servant of the Lord and a faithful member of Files Chapel Baptist Church, where she worshiped and shared her love for God with others. She retired from PPG Industries after many years of dedicated service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Sam Bush; a granddaughter, K'Mequa L. Bussey, two brothers, Eugene Joe L. Hearst and Marvin Bussey and a sister-in-law, Gwen Hearst.

Cherishing her precious memory are her loving children: Carliss (Tara) Bussey, Chaun'Dee (Christopher) Pearson and Brad Bussey; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse Bussey and Norris Bussey; two sisters, Sarah (Boykin) Harris and Brenda (Harold) Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

A celebration of life and homegoing service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Files Chapel Baptist Church, with family visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
