Mother Betty Davis Marshall, 81, was born in Inman, South Carolina, on April 18, 1942
the seventh child of ten children born to Capers W. Davis and Ethel Rice Davis. She passed away on June 6, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
She was a graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1961. She also graduated from Essex County Community College, NJ & Fairleigh Dickerson University, NJ with a BS in Business Management.
Betty was a loving, wise, genuine & generous person. She adored and loved her son and grandchildren unconditionally and always supported and cheered for them. She was huge on family and family gatherings but mostly enjoyed spending time with her sister Sarah, who was her best friend.
She retired from her company, O.M. Construction. She loved her church family and was a charter and faithful member of Full Deliverance Outreach Center where she was on the Mother's board, a member of the trustee and prayer ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents; Capers W. Davis and Ethel Rice Davis; three brothers: James Davis, C.W. Davis and George Davis and two sisters, Lelia Davis and Ethel Parks.
Mother Marshall leaves to cherish her memory her son, Michael (Denise) Marshall; four grandchildren: Shannon Marshall, Michael Marshall, Tabitha Marshall and Tamra Marshall; three sisters: Sarah Reid, Lousie Copeland and Peggy (Michael) McShane; a brother, Major (Venie) Davis; a sister-in-law, Frances Davis and a special and devoted niece Norma Partee; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She fought a good fight, finished her course, kept the faith and now she's with her Lord and Savior forevermore. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Home going service will be Sunday at Full Deliverance Outreach Center at 2:30pm. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery.
