Billy Joe Blakely, Jr. was born June 21, 1963 in Davidson County to Billy Blakely and Viola Anderson Burgess. He passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Pine Acres Health and Rehabilitation.

He graduated from Central Davidson High School and NC State University. He retired from the United States Air Force. Billy worked as a correctional officer.

BJ was preceded in death by his father and sister, Regina Blakely Crump.

He leaves to cherish her memory his mother, Viola Burgess; a daughter, Tanisha (Vincent) Sweet; two grandchildren; a brother, David Blakely of Lexington; two sisters, LaTanya Blakely (Jay) McCoy of Winston-Salem and Myra White (Antoine) Kincaid of Columbus, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, love ones and friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service with family visitation at Noon.
