Obituary

Blondie Delores Griffin White, affectionately known as "Lois," was born on November 30, 1943. She departed this life into everlasting communion with our Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020.

Delores was united in matrimony to James White, Jr. and that union was blessed with two daughters. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and kitchen committee. Later, she was under the Watch Care Ministry of Abiding Faith Outreach Ministry pastored by her daughter, Carol White.Lois led a productive and rewarding life. She was a strong- willed matriarch and displayed a heart of gold which she shared with both friends and family alike.

Delores was principled, wise and compassionate. She showed her compassionate tendencies to those she met in need and to the many charities she supported faithfully throughout her life. Her career path included Western Electric (AT&T) and Wake Forest Baptist Hospital as a licensed Practical Nurse. She retired from Corning Inc.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, James White, Jr.She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted daughters, Dianna (Michael) Ball of Kernersville, NC and Carol (Kevin) White of the city; one granddaughter, Jocelyn (Napoleon) Crowell of Charlotte, NC; one great-grandson, Josiah Crowell of Charlotte, NC; a dearly beloved brother, James Edward Griffin; uncles William Griffin and Willie (Ernestine) Griffin; aunts Carroll J. Griffin and Stella (Ricky) Imes whom she shared a special bond as a friend, and a long-time close friend, Christine Mabry.

Delores is also survived by sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Hardie of the city, Melanie Hogg of Charlotte, NC; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Joyce) Hogg of Charlotte, NC, David Hogg of the city and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives.

A Service of Remembrance will be held privately Thursday, November 12, 2020; however, no public viewing will be held for Mrs. Blondie White.In accordance with social distancing protocols, all guests are required to wear a face mask or covering for all services.
