Mr. Booker Taliaferro Neely, Jr., of Garden Dr., passed Friday, November 23, 2018 at Lexington Health Care.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30pm at Yadkin Grove Baptist Church, 325 Leonard Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146 with family visitation a half hour before the service.

Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00pm-7:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

B.T. or Coach, as he was called, was born in Greenwood, South Carolina to Bishop Booker Taliaferro Neely, Sr. and Pearl Radden Neely on April 7, 1935. Booker has been a blessing to many church ministries and choirs, being gifted to play many instruments and write songs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Horace Neely.

Booker leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ester Adams-Neely of Lexington; four daughters: Yolanda Butler, Yvette Neely of Philadelphia, Pa, Yvonne Roberts and Tameka Rhodes; a step daughter, Anita Luther; a son, Paige Todd Neely of Lexington; two sisters, Rosa Garcia of Philadelphia, Pa. and Lillian Stoner of Lexington; a brother, Odell Neely of Philadelphia, Pa.; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
