Brenda Joyce Tate Horton, 72, passed away peacefully at Lexington Health Care Friday, December 23, 2016 surrounded by family.

The funeral service will be Thursday at Files Chapel Baptist Church at 2:00pm with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.

She was born August 14, 1944 to Lloyd Sr. and Charlotte Wilson Tate. She was last employed at Lexington Health Care. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Ray Horton; a son, Rodney Horton; two brothers, Raymond Tate and Lloyd Tate, Jr.; four sisters: Mary Holmes, Bennie Mae Tate, Nola Ann Hogan and Glenda Tate and her son-in-law, Vernon Watson, Sr.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, three daughters: Constance Romaine Watson, Stephanie (Robbie) Owens and Celena (Derall) Pittman; two sisters, Shirley Peoples and Elaine Tate; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
