Obituary

Bruce Davis, age 76, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Pine Acres Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lexington, North Carolina.


Funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service with family visitation at 1:30pm. Public viewing will be Saturday from 1-5:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.


Bruce was born November 3, 1947 in Davidson County, North Carolina. He was the son of Jacob Dewitt and Rose Mae Hamilton Davis. Bruce was a former member of Ezekiel AME Zion Church. He was employed by Dixie-Linwood in the maintenance department and as a night watchman. Bruce was also a self-employed landscaper and heavy equipment operator.


He is survived by his loving daughter, Wendy Perkins Horton; a devoted friend for over 50 years, Lillian Moser; three siblings: Thomas Dewitt Davis, Sabina Davis Cade and Jameshia Gilmore; a cousin raised in the home like a brother, Adolph Hayden; a brother-in-law, Joseph Mack; two sisters-in-law: Gloria Davis and Doris Davis; a faithful and devoted godson, David James (Laurie) Makuson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Dewitt Davis and Rosa Mae Davis and five siblings: Margaret J. Mack, Fannie D. Marshall, Carlton Davis, Jackson Davis, Sr. and Larry Davis.
