Obituary
Carlyle Eugene Lanier, 74, of Laurel Brook Trial., passed peacefully on his birthday, Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
Memorial service will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Walter Grove Baptist Church, 2610 Cid Rd., Lexington, NC. Flowers can be delivered to the church on Tuesday.
Carlyle was born January 11, 1943, to Ray Holt Lanier, Sr. and Annie J. Bailey Lanier. He was a hardworking brick mason who loved his family and two dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ada Belle Spicer Lanier; a sister, Kathy Lynn Lanier and two brothers, Ray H. Lanier, Jr. and Phillip H. Lanier.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christine Atkins Lanier; a daughter, Lynn Lanier; a granddaughter, Brandi Robbins and three great-grandchildren; seven brothers: June (Nell) Lanier, Don (Ann) Lanier, Jerry (Pauline) Lanier, Bobby (Tonya) Lanier, Eddie (Barbara) Lanier, Keith (Trish) Lanier and Tony Lanier; three sister: Ronda Wilson, Betty (Jerry) Robbins and Rita (Mark) Motsinger and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
