IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn
Hairston
December 21, 1945 – July 31, 2024
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:7,8
Our beloved, Carolyn O'lene White Hairston, entered Eternal rest July 31, 2024. She was born December 21, 1945 in Iredell County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late William White and Velma Dalton White.
She attended the Davie County Training School in Mocksville, North Carolina. A faithful servant, Carolyn was a member of New Jerusalem Apostolic Church, Mocksville, North Carolina. She did not seek the limelight, but sought God's everlasting light. What she strived to do every day was to live the best life possible and to be a blessing to those around her. Prior to declining health, her hobbies were watching tv, cleaning, listening to Motown Music, cooking and making the BEST biscuits and fried chicken.
She was married to William Clyde (WC) Hairston who preceded her in death. She now rests in her Heavenly home with her husband; parents; sisters: D. Geraldine Dalton, Geneva White, Edna W. Hairston and Margaret W. Ijames; brothers: Henry W. White, Jimmy L. White, Bobby E. White, Charles S. White and twin brothers, John White and James White in a place we are told is perfect in every way.
Carolyn is survived by a devoted and loving family who will forever cherish her memory. Survivors are a daughter, Angie Carol (Anthony) Sellers; a son, Crandell Hairston; two grandchildren, Shaquinta Carol Hairston and Shaemar Elijah Hairston; two great grandchildren, Rayquinn Eli Gray and Rayneik Erivone Gray; a brother, Robert Gary White; sisters-in-law, Rosalee Arnold and Margaret White; brother-in-law, Calvin Ijames; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Celebration of life service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 4, 2024 at New Jerusalem Apostolic Church with family visitation at 2:30 P.M. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
