Carson Lewis, Jr., affectionately known as Bull Dog, 70 years old of Mocksville, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, February 5, 2023 while at home.
Carson was born to the late Carson Lewis, Sr. and Annie Margaret Dillard Lewis in Mocksville on August 12, 1952. He was educated in the public school system in Davie County and graduated from Davie High School in 1970.
Carson was a supervisor at Funder America, Inc. where he retired after 40 years of service with the company. He remained active as the owner/operator for his intrastate DOT registered trucking company, Lewis Enterprises, for 24 years. Carson was a member of St. John AME Zion Church where he frequently volunteered to maintain the grounds around the church property. In his leisure time, he loved sports, NASCAR and collecting baseball caps and t-shirts. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbert Ray Lewis, Sr.
Carson leaves to cherish his memories his children: Stephanie Lewis of Greensboro, Selena Lewis of Charlotte and Jonathan (Emille) Cole of Jacksonville; two sisters, Margaret Wilkes (Elliott) and Geraldine Goolsby (Jerry) and one brother, Michael Lewis all of Mocksville; three grandchildren: Sarah, Jaxson and Aubree Cole of Jacksonville; two aunts, Marcella Lewis and Barbara Lewis; god-son, Adrian Harris of Knoxville, TN; god-sister, Pastor Nettye Barber; several nieces, nephews and cousins; extended family members and many other friends.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at St. John AME Zion Church with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Public viewing will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Roberts Chapel.
