Obituary
Cathleen Elizabeth Mitchell Lawton of High Point, passed away on July 23, 2023 at Hospice of the Piedmont. She was born May 10, 1956 in Davidson County to Leroy Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Bush Mitchell.
She was educated in New Jersey and graduated from High Point University and worked for C&J Collins Transport. Cathleen was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Gerald Lawton and a brother, Fred Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Odessa (Jose Matamoros) Lawton of Maryland and Sherrie (Rayvon Robinson) Lawton of High Point; a son, Jerry Lawton of Lexington; three grandchildren: Mya Lawton, Logan Lawton and Lillian Lawton; five brothers: Leroy "Ted" (Diane) Coleman of Lexington, William Edward Mitchell of Winston-Salem, Mayhew Mitchell of High Point, Marlon Davis of Elizabeth, NJ and Robert Davis of Connecticut; a sister, Linda Coleman Barmore Gunn of Columbus, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 3:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
