Obituary

CeQuan Lenard Scales, 25, was born May 9, 1993 to the parents of Tarror D. Scales and Roderick L. Riley. He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. Mr. Scales received his High School GED in 2012.

He leaves behind a younger sister, Abera C. Lucky; maternal grandmother, Sandra Scales; paternal grandfather, Ben Hughes; aunt Tekia Scales; two uncles: Monterio and Adrian Riley; and four great aunts: Retha Hill, Clara (Roscoe) Pouncey, Carrie (Floyd) Plemouth and Iris Jackson.

CeQuan departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, February 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jacqueline Riley McFadden and aunt, Tiffany Scales.

CeQuan will forever be remembered for his caring and charismatic personality. He was known to be a guardian to anyone around him. CeQuan was a good son and a loving brother. He will live in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace!

A Homegoing celebration will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 N. Liberty Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 with family visitation at 11:30 a.m. Cequan's mortal frame shall find eternal rest in Woodland Cemetery.His remains shall lie in repose for public viewing Monday, February 18, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem Chapel.
