Obituary

Chandis Robert Lilly, age 37 of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on June 12, 2026.Chandis was a devoted husband, father, son, musician and friend. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't share his love, wisdom and support with everyone he met. He loved his family and village fiercely and had a deep love for God that he enjoyed sharing with others. His family was his heart.

He adored his children, Berklee and Everett, and never let a day go by without telling them and showing them how much they were loved.

Music was Chandis' saving grace. Throughout the years, he met countless incredible musicians and cherished the friendships he made with his bandmates. His studio was one of his favorite places to be. He especially loved making and recording music with his children, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Chandis is survived by his loving wife, Amanda; his children, Berklee and Everett; his parents, Robert and Robin; and sister-in-law; his beloved niece, Zowe and Mamaw Peggy. He is also survived by our village, many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and beloved bandmates. One thing is certain, Chandis never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Josh; his grandparents; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

If you knew Chandis, you knew he never liked seeing people sad or upset. He often said that when his time came, he wanted a celebration not a time of sorrow, but a gathering filled with music, laughter, love and stories. In honoring those wishes, the family will be planning a celebration of life that truly reflects the man Chandis was. Additional details will be shared in the coming days.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Berklee and Everett's future fund. In honor of Chandis, go out and spread kindness, love and savor the moments. To know Chandis, was to love him!
