Charles William Lee, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC, was called to rest on August 30, 2025, surrounded by the family he so deeply loved. Born in Lexington, NC, he was the son of the late Clifford and Margaret Lee.

Charles was cherished for his love of family, his generosity toward others and that unforgettable raspy voice that could fill a room with laughter and warmth. He cared tenderly for his parents until their passing and carried that same spirit of care into his work. Charles dedicated his career to protecting and supporting his community, serving as a police officer with the City of Lexington and the City of Winston-Salem, and later as a campus officer at Winston-Salem State University and North Carolina A&T State University.

Charles will be remembered as a man of laughter, hospitality and generosity. His life was a testament to faithfulness—faithfulness to service, to friendship and most importantly, to the love and care of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Clifford H. Lee, Jr., Robert A. Lee and Brooks E. Lee. Left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Jennifer B. Lee of Winston-Salem; devoted daughter, Camille Lee-Hicks (Severus) and daughter,  Leslie Huntley; two grandchildren, Jeda and Josiah; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication and the joy of a life well-lived — one marked by kindness, strength and a presence that will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.

The funeral service will be Saturday at Roberts Funeral Service, Lexington at 1:00pm, with family visitation at 12:30pm.  Burial will  be Monday at 11:00am at Salisbury National Cemetery.
