Pastor Charles Raymond "Fly" McClendon of High Point, NC was born July 17, 1946 to Arthur Lee McClendon and Lillie Belle Ingram. He transitions to eternal glory on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Pastor Charles or Pastor Fly, as he was affectionately called, was educated in Guilford County Schools. He served in the United States Army and obtained a few jobs including a Substance Abuse Tech as well as earning a license for a trade at GTCC for ownership and management of his own business.

When Pastor Fly started living for the Lord, his life was a true testimony. He attended and graduated from Vintage Bible College, he became an ordained Pastor, and as a humble servant was participating in several Christian organizations such as BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), Pilgrimage and ARISE. He was the Founder of Recovery Inc. Ministries in the beautiful city of Thomasville, NC.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Arthur Lee McClendon, III.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his wife of 25 years, Darlene Norfleet McClendon; three sons: Frederick L. Miller of New York, Brent O. Norfleet of West Palm Beach, Florida and Charles R. McClendon, Jr. of New York; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Carolyn Moore; a brother, Alfred George McClendon both of Greensboro and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday at New Life Family Church at 11:30am with family visitation at 11:00am.
