Charles Junior Moore, 74, of Chandler Street, transitioned from this earthly journey into eternal rest on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born on August 30, 1950 to the late Arch Moore and Amanda Thacker Moore in Reidsville, North Carolina.
Charles received his formal education in the Rockingham County Public Schools and was a Class of 1969 graduate. Through the journeys of life after graduation, Charles graciously enlisted in the United States Armed Forces and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1976 and achieved various decorations. Even after he left active-duty service, Charles lived true to the US Marine Corps motto, "Semper Fidelis" ("Always Faithful").
A man of much knowledge, Charles embarked upon a journey of higher learning at the Illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he was conferred his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Moore and Vernon Moore; two sisters, Judy Moore and Ruby Moore; sister-in-law, Brenda Chalmers and brother-in-law, Johnny R. Mack.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 28 years, Cynthia Moore; three children: Kevin (Cynthia) Moore, Christy (Tyrone) Jackson, Henry Mack; mother-in-law, Fannie Mack, Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three siblings: Bobby Moore, Barbara Jean Moore, Francis Cobbs; six sisters-in-law: Jacquelyn Williams and Henrietta Willis-Hodge, Winston-Salem, NC, Carolyn Daniels, Boston, MA, Janet Casiano, NJ, Shenetta Robinson and Pactrica Minter, Winston-Salem, NC; brother-in-law, Mark (Patrina) Mack; life-long friend, Charles Settler; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services honoring his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Roberts Funeral Service (Winston-Salem). Military honors will be rendered following the service. A public viewing will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Service (Winston-Salem).
