Charlie Henry Miller, 72, peacefully departed this earthly life for eternal life on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Hospice of Rockingham County. He was born April 15, 1945, in Rockingham County, NC to the late Sam Henry and Katherine Watt Miller.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 3241 Guerrant Springs Road, Ruffin, NC 27326.Burial will follow in Chapel Hill P.P. Baptist Church Cemetery, Ruffin, NC.The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Ruffin and other times at the home 1838 Moir Mill Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
Charlie was married to Barbara Ann Johnson for 51 years and to this union was born one daughter, Morticia and two sons, Roderick and Reginald. Preceding him in death were his parents, Sam Henry Miller and Katherine Watt Miller.
Charlie, affectionately known as "Grandpa" and "Papa", received his formal education from the local schools and attended Booker T. Washington High School. Charlie was employed with Mohawk Industries in Eden, NC for 42 years until he retired. During his Christian journey, he was a devoted and faithful member of Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church from a young age until his health no longer would allow. He formerly served on the Deacon Board, Trustee Board and sang with the Male Chorus. In his leisure time he had a great zeal and love for hunting and fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Barbara Ann Johnson Miller of the home; daughter, Morticia "Annette" Miller of the home; two sons, Roderick "Ricky" Miller, Reginald "Reggie" (Dorrie) Miller both of Reidsville, NC; brother, Constance (Shirley) Miller of Reidsville, NC; sister, Lemma Mae Obey of Eden, NC; six grandchildren: Antonio, Marcus, Darian,Rayneeka, Acelin, Xayden; two great grandchildren, Baya and Nevaeh; a special and devoted friend, Gary Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.
