Chenika LaVern Holly, affectionately known as Nika, departed this earthly life on January 28, 2026 at the age of 43. She was born on October 19, 1982 and will be remembered for the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone she encountered.
Chenika was a devoted daughter, loving sister, aunt, niece, cousin and a true friend. She was naturally kind, thoughtful and respectful, with a gentle spirit that made people feel comfortable and at ease. Her warm smile and contagious laugh brought joy to those around her, and she had a special way of making others feel seen, welcomed and appreciated.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Chenika took pride in her work and showed up each day with quiet strength and consistency. She was most recently employed as a cashier at Speedway, where she was valued for her dependability and pleasant demeanor. Prior to that, she worked as an overnight stocker at Walmart, where she earned the respect and appreciation of her coworkers for her strong work ethic.
Family was deeply important to Chenika, and she cherished the time spent with those she loved. She held her family close to her heart and found joy in the bonds she shared with them. Her love extended beyond family, as she formed meaningful friendships that remained close throughout her life.
Chenika was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Priscilla Nelson Holly, and other loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Timothy Lee Holly (stepmother, Alice Holly); brother, Tauss Lee Holly; sister, Tabitha Lanai Holly (Tevin Earl Harper); stepsisters, Sellina Kpan and Whitney Kpan; her one and only niece who she adored, Brittany Comer, daughter of Lorraine Comer; step-niece, Naomi Kpan; nephew, Major Lee Crockett, son of Blontina Sanders; godson, Ja'leel White; aunt, Tania Patterson; uncles: Farndrill Holly (Gwendolyn), Thomas Holly (Willie), Carlton Holly, Anthony Holly, Sherwood Nelson and John Anthony Nelson (Amy); along with a host of cousins, extended family members and friends.
She is also survived by her very special friends who held a meaningful place in her life: Jay Burton, Queen Wentz, Lakisha Hampton and Nikki Oquinn.
Chenika LaVern Holly will be remembered for her gentle heart, her kind nature, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the moments she made brighter.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem), with visitation at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Public viewing will be prior to the service only.
