Cheniqua Janelle Alsbrooks, daughter of Lisa Jenkins-Coleman and Elvin Vernard Alsbrooks, was born on August 8, 1981. She passed into the loving arms of God on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at High Point Regional UNC Health Care, after a long illness.

Her loving memories will forever be in the hearts of her family, her son, James Micheal VanAllen, Jr. and daughters, Jahlynn Iyana VanAllen of the home, and, Jazmyne Michelle VanAllen of Salisbury, North Carolina, parents: Lisa Jenkins-Coleman of High Point, NC and Elvin V. Alsbrooks of Kannapolis, NC, sister, Calandra Lizette Jenkins of Pfafftown, NC; grandmother, Thelma Bowman Jenkins of Lexington; nephew, Khalil D. Smith and niece, Ziyah R. Simpson, and a host of cousins, friends and relatives.

The celebration of life service will be Saturday at First Baptist Church, Village Dr. at 2:00pm with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
