Christine Rogers Smith, 82, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Christine was born in Seneca, South Carolina to Johnny R. Rogers and Nora Barton Rogers on April 9, 1941. She retired from Lexington Home Brands and also worked many years at Walmart. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Johnnie Smith; a brother, Eugene Rogers and a sister, Jeanette R. Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Valerie Smith of Greensboro; two sons, Sylvester Smith and Edward Smith both of Lexington; two daughter in-laws, Tammy Smith and LaTonya Smith; 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Thomas Rogers of Lexington, John Rogers of Kannapolis and Willie (Dorene) Rogers of Rocky Mount; a sister, Elnora Hairston and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Sunday at New Zion Baptist Church at 3:00pm with family visitation at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
