Corressa Elizabeth Boger Anderson, 60, transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. "Ree Ree" as she was affectionately called by many who knew and loved her, and "Gigi" and "Mook Mook" as she was called by her grandchildren, was a devout Christian, extraordinary mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Corressa was born on June 12, 1962. She was a 1980 graduate of Lexington Senior High School. She loved children and was a dedicated employee of the Head Start Program for many years. Corressa was a faithful member of Life In The Word Worship Center for 14 years, where she served as a team leader for the Usher-Greeter and Interaction Ministries. When she began to experience health challenges, she continued to serve faithfully with the Usher-Greeter Ministry from her home. Her multi-talented skills and her calling led her to also serve with Children's Church and the Culinary Ministry. She was often teased about the "strong" coffee she made and defended every Sunday morning.
Corressa was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Sherod Boger; her mother, Dorothy Boger Hamilton; her stepfather, Ozzie Lee Hamilton, Sr.; and her brother, Ozzie Lee Hamilton, Jr.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her father, Ben Westbrook of Manhattan, NY; her sons, Durrell Antonio Anderson (Alesia) of Monroe, NC, DeVante Rashad Lewis of Lexington, NC; three grandsons, Justice Sebastian, Braylon James, and Genesis Brandon Anderson of Monroe, NC; three brothers, Waldon Boger of Winston Salem, NC, Alex Hamilton (Melody) of Lexington, NC, and Charles Crump (Leslie) of Anderson, SC; five sisters, Pamela Hamilton, Thelma Hamilton, Sarah "Sookie" McIntosh, Harriet Roberts, and Sasha Holloway all of Lexington, NC; her beloved nephew, Bernard Dixon of Lexington, NC, whom she helped raise; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
The family extends special thanks to Lexington Dialysis Center, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Roberts Funeral Service, Pastor Eddie D. Scott and Life In The Word Worship Center.
Celebration of life service will be Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Breeden Insurance Amphitheater. Please bring your lawn chair.
