Obituary

Rev. Coy Watkins Medley, Sr., 70, of Beckner St., passed Friday, October 3, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 3:00pm at Lexington Deliverance Tabernacle with family visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1-8pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

He was born in Davidson County on November 27, 1943 to John H. Medley and Mattie Medley. He was a member of Lexington Deliverance Tabernacle. He was last employed with North Carolina Dept. of Correction for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John H. Medley, Jr. and a sister, Mary A. Jackson.

Rev. Medley leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Shirley Medley; five sons, Coy (Michelle) Medley, Jr. of Lexington, Ernest (Bakima) Medley of Salisbury, Michael (Tanya) Medley of Lexington, Gary Medley of High Point and Martin (Tarra) Medley of Greensboro; three daughters, Cheryl Medley of Greensboro, Angela Medley of Kannapolis and Dontressa Medley of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, adopted sons and daughters.
