Daisy Helen Powell Shaw, age, 90, was born February 26, 1933 in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Leroy Richardson, Sr. and Martha May Allen. She passed away on June 11, 2023 with her loving family by her side.


She was a member of Righteous In Christ Ministries, Inc., High Point, North Carolina. She would receive her primary education from the local public school system and was a graduate of Atkins High School, Winston-Salem, NC. She worked in guest services with the Hilton Hotel.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Earl Powell, Sr.; two daughters, Patricia Ann Powell Kershaw and Barbara Powell; grandson, James Earl Powell, Jr.; two granddaughters, Jamika Powell and Daisy Richardson; three brothers: Leroy, Jr, Thomas and Arthur Richardson; and two sisters, Brenda Dixon and Leslie Richardson.


Mother Daisy leaves to cherish her beautiful memory sons: Archie and Anthony Powell of Buffalo, NY, Jimmy (Jennifer) Reed of NC, Kevin Reed of Buffalo, NY, Tyrone Prince of Buffalo, NY, Kenny Robinson of NC, Robert Finny of NC; daughters: Evangelist Constance (Ralph) Broadwater of Buffalo, NY, Katie (Minister Mario) Moses, Cynthia (Alfred) McDowell, Victoria (Charles) Smith, Janet Prince, all of NC, granddaughters/sisters, Jessie Powell, Sabrina Parks (Roy) Davidson; devoted friend, Mr. Jesse James; three sisters: Anita Dixon, Queen Streeter, Janice (Joletha) Richardson and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem) with family visitation at 2:30 P.M. prior the service. Public viewing will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
