Danny Ray Bishop, 65, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, after years of declining health.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Lexington City Cemetery, with Pastor Tonya Branham of Mercy Walktin Church officiating.
Danny was born on July 28, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Earl and Ruby Hall Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronnie Bishop and Philip "Kilroy" Bishop.
Danny is survived by his son, Daniel Bishop and wife Danielle, along with their children: Bella, Patrick, Samuel, Silas, Nathaniel, Lily, Grayson, and Adeline-the grandchildren he adored. He is also survived by his sister, Tina Bishop Phillips, and her husband Marty Phillips, and their children Mollie and Matthew. Danny also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, Linda Berrier, as well as a loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Danny had a big heart and would go out of his way to help a friend. He cherished the simple things in life-spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, relaxing at the lake, or cranking up his stereo to his favorite ACDC tracks. A true enthusiast of classic muscle cars and Harley-Davidsons, Danny was also a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, and drag racing at Farmington Speedway.
Known for his toughness, his signature long hair and goatee, and the hat he rarely took off, Danny made a lasting impression on everyone he met. While he was undoubtedly "tough as nails," he also had a tender heart-and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
