Daphne Rebecca Smith Moore, 93, of Edna St., was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Lexington Health Care.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Moore was born on August 10, 1923 in Davidson County to James Smith and Ida Miller. She was a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church and served on the usher board until she was unable to attend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Jacob Alonzo Moore; a sister, Jesse Smith Glenn and two brothers, James and Vernon Smith.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her two sons, Robert "Mo" Moore and devoted friend, Besty Fuller and Rev. Dr. Jimmy (Vicki) Moore, all of Lexington; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two nephews, a niece, a devoted great-niece, Alberta W. Walker; a spiritual god-son, Michael Holloway and a host of friends and loved ones.
