DeAnna Cody, age 57, answered God's call and went from labor to reward on Thursday, November 24, 2022. We, her family and friends, give thanksgiving to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing us to share her life.
She was born January 8, 1965 in Davie County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Booker T. Cody, Sr. and Magdalene Wilson Cody. DeAnna received her formal education in the Davie County public schools. She was employed for several years with Walmart in Mocksville, North Carolina.
DeAnna had a very strong faith-walked. When possible, she attended New Life Apostolic Church, Mocksville, North Carolina. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who always found time to help others. She was talented and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, painting her granddaughters' nails, listening to music, playing various card games and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Her specialty was teaching everyone how to keep their homes clean. You could often find her enjoying a nice cold Mt. Dew, with her Sour Cream and Cheddar chips with a Butterfinger on the side. She had an infectious smile and was "Mama" or "TT" to many.
In addition to her parents, DeAnna was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward L. Cody and Standly Cody, and two sisters, Mary Ann Cody and Brida Lee Wilkens.
Those left to cherish and mourn a dearly loved one are a son, Wesley (Daniene) Cody of Mocksville, North Carolina; three daughters: Maggie (Tatiniya) Cody and Candice Redmond both of Mocksville, North Carolina and Letesha Brooks of Salisbury, North Carolina; nine grandchildren: Auyanna Brooks, Anthony Brooks, Latrell McNeely, Auquanna Brooks, McKinnley Simmons, Kaiis Cody, Myles Simmons, Kaleb Cody and Zy'ion Cody; six great grandchildren; a brother, Samuel J. Cody of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Deborah F. Cody of King, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
