God saw the load too heavy, the hill too hard to climb. He gently closed her weary eyes and whispered, "Peace be thine."

She attended the Person County School system and graduated from Person County High School. After graduation, she reconnected with and fell in love with former school mate Charles S. Cash, and in 1968 the two united in the bonds of holy matrimony. The happy couple was blessed with three daughters, who always showed them love and support and were the apples of their eyes.
After one year of service at Person County Memorial Hospital, Deloris accepted an employment offer with the U.S. Government Agricultural Department in Raleigh, NC where she worked for five years before relocating with her husband and children to Baltimore, Maryland. In Baltimore, she was employed with Johns Hopkins Medical Center. After several years in Maryland, Deloris and her family returned to North Carolina, residing in Durham where she worked at Duke University Medical Center in the Cardiovascular Department.
