Obituary

Demar Marquis Floyd of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, departed from this world on April 10, 2021.Marquis, affectionately known "Quis-cee", was born on February 28, 1994.He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Pastor Minnie Floyd Hodges (Win) and his father the late Clifton Leonard.

Marquis attended the Forsyth County School System, where he graduated from Carter High School in 2012.Marquis was a very gentle and kind-hearted soul.Every time you would see him, he had a smile on his face.He loved his brothers, sisters, and his entire family dearly.Marquis was born on the spectrum with Autism, but you would never know because of the way he interacted with people.He loved to dance, play the drums, listen to gospel music, and enjoyed being with his family.He also loved wrestling and the Los Angeles Lakers.His favorite football team was the Carolina Panthers.Every Sunday, he would go on and on about his team.There was always a debate with his family about his team!

Marquis is survived in death by his only sister, Mae Ella Floyd (Calvin Lee Moore, Sr.), with three nieces and two nephews; brothers: Lynn Michael Floyd (Samantha), with two nieces and five nephews; Travis Lamar Floyd (Kiasha Brown), with one niece and five nephews; Christopher Speas, with two nieces and two nephews; William Carmichael of New Jersey and Fred Carmichael of Riverdale, South Carolina; aunts: the late Frances Lee Floyd Brown (James), Mary Rice (Raymond) of Winston-Salem, NC; the late JoAnn Huggins (Charles), Brenda Leggett (Delton) of Dillion, SC; uncles: the late James Willie Floyd of Charlotte, NC, the late Willie Floyd (Rosena) of Dillion, SC, the late Joe David Crawford (Gloria), the late Anthony Bo Floyd (Tonya), Jerry Floyd, (the late Dorothy) and Ernest Floyd, all of Winston-Salem, NC.

A special niece LaTesha Renee Moore with one great niece and three great nephews; a special nephew, Calvin Lee Moore, Jr. with two great nieces and one great nephew, a special friend, Shaliek Weatherly.Marquis also leaves behind a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, another special friend, Rex Williams, and friends. In our hearts you will always be our Champion.You will be greatly missed, so rest on dearly beloved brother…until we meet again!

His Life was Celebrated 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 26, 2021 from the chapel of Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem.Public viewing was held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.His mortal frame was coached to Mt. Gur Cemetery from earthly rest.
