Dennis Ray Joyner, age 70, departed from this life on November 19, 2021.  Lovingly known as "Pop Joyner," he was the son of Frank and Lillian Joyner. Pop was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC.

He attended Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. He worked diligently at Douglas Battery for 28 years and he retired in 1998. Outside of the pride of taking care of his family, Pop had a love for gardening that rivaled his love of the Washington Redskins.

Pop was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kenneth Joyner. He leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline Joyner; his son, Dennis R Joyner, Jr.; granddaughters, Casandra Joyner and Lindsay Joyner and daughter-in-law, Angela "Nikki" Joyner.

Pop will be remembered by his siblings: Faye Joyner Little, David Joyner and Terry Joyner, along with a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from the chapel of Roberts Funeral Service (Winston-Salem).  There will be no public viewing held for Mr. Joyner.  In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory requirements.
