Obituary

Donald Lee "Don" Walser, 78, of Old Salisbury Rd., departed this life on Friday, October 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 1, 1939 in Davidson County to Irvin F. Walser and Eva Owens Walser.

He retired from Western-Southern Life Insurance Company and served in the United States Navy. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Banks Miller American Legion Post 255. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jan Walser Lindsay and three brothers: Billy Walser, Gerald Walser and Rev. Dr. H. Calvin Walser.

Don leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Barbara H. Walser; two sons: Terrance Brown and Dwayne Walser; three daughters: Dorsel (Robert, Jr.) Edwards, Jana (Anthony) Walser-Smith and Donna (Marvin) Johnson; two step-sons, Kevin (Willina) Carson and Marc (Yaa) Carson; four step-daughters, Kim (Greg) Hargrave, Collette (Curtis) McLaughlin, Gina Holmes and Deione Holmes; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 19 step grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at New Jersey AME Zion Church at 11:00am with family visitation at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
