Donnie Leon Nunn was born on September 24, 1970, in Rowan County to William Herndon Jr. of Salisbury and the late Betty Ann Nunn. On his 55th birthday, September 24, 2025, he peacefully transitioned from this life.

He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Arquala Nunn; and a brother, William Herndon, III.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Yolanda P. Nunn; one son, Donnie A. Nunn; one daughter, Deja Nunn; a stepdaughter, Quinivia Blakeney; his father, William Herndon, Jr.; four brothers, Travis L. (Jennifer) Nunn, Marcus (Tamika) Nunn, Demetries Nunn, and Andre Wall; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, with family visitation beginning at 12:30pm. Public viewing will be Sunday at Roberts Funeral Service from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
