Donnie Rayvon Verdell, Sr., 68, of Brown St., died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Davidson County on August 9, 1953 to Johnnie "Bim" Verdell and Annie Elizabeth Clodfelter Verdell. He retired from Vitacost and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: John, Bobbie, Ray, Leo and Walter Verdell and two sisters, Naomi Miller and Edna Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Yolanda "Yogi" (Irvin) Baldwin, Donnie (Kimberly) Verdell, Jr. and Kendrah Verdell; his children's mother, Betty Verdell; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Elder Jasper "Jack" (Inez) Verdell; two sisters, Melba Rae Cooper and Margaret Ann Bauccum and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00am in the Craven~Powell Chapel of Roberts Funeral Service with family visitation at 10:30am.Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.Public viewing will be Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Service from 1:00pm-6:00pm.
