Mrs. Doris Jean Peoples Bethea, 83, of Apex Dr., passed away April 10, 2023 at her residence.

She was born July 10, 1939 in Davidson County to Herman and Cynthia Davis Peoples. She was a faithful member of Ezekiel AME Zion Church. Doris retired from Mannington Floor. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Torrance Bethea; three brothers: Willie L. Peoples, Ernest Peoples and Delmont Peoples and two sisters, Amanda D. Peoples and Mary Fowler.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Michael Bethea, Natalie Peoples, Teresa Bethea Farmer, Danita Bethea and Mary Bethea Fisher; 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Nathaniel (Faye) Peoples, Russell Peoples, Joseph Peoples; a sister, Sadie P. Rivers and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at Ezekial AME Zion Church at 1:30pm with family visitation at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
