Eddie Thomas Tyson, son of the late Howard Liles, Sr. and the Elizabeth Tyson Merritt and his stepfather, the late Hobert Merritt, was born June 1, 1946 in Lilesville, NC.He entered into the arms of our Father on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Atrium Health Lincoln in Lincolnton, NC.

As a child, he worked with his grandfather on the farm and attended Parson Grove Baptist Church in Wadesboro, NC with his family.As an adult, he found employment in the Lexington Furniture Industry and retired from Stanley Furniture.Eddie was an active and devoted member of First Baptist Church Southmont where he served on the usher board and drove the church van.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sara Hargrave Tyson; a step-daughter, Letha Pompey; four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Liles and Howard Liles, Jr.; six sisters: Josie Bowman, Patricia Leak, Hannah Liles, Carolyn Cox, Maggie West and Lucille Liles.He has special aunts who grew up with him, Georgiana Allen and Mary Ricks and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Southmont at 12 Noon.
