Edward Baucum, Jr. 95, of Palm Coast, Florida departed his earthly life on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his home.
Edward, affectionately called Booley, Baucum and Mr. Ed by family and friends, was born on Tuesday, July 2, 1929 in Anson County to the late Edward and Brent Leake Baucum.
He attended the public school system in Anson County and Fourth Street Dunbar School Lexington, North Carolina. Mr. Baucum was a member of the United States Army. He retired from Walter Reed Medical Center as an engineer and was the property maintenance manager for Naylor Road Apartments for 10 years. Upon retiring, Mr. Baucum moved to Palm Coast, Florida where he was active in his community. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief-Florida, and he owned a small lawncare business. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football, at all levels.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Esther Rector and Nancy Young, stepsisters: Shirley Smith, Christine Smith, Bernice Robinson and Nellie Parker; half-brothers: Ed Baucum, Charles Baucum and George Baucum; stepbrother, Marshall Smith Jr.; stepbrother-in-law, George "Junior" Robinson and daughter-in-law, Marion Baucum.
He is survived by his children, Judy Holmes of Bronx, New York and Larry (Elizabeth) of Clinton, Maryland; grandson, Larry Baucum, Jr. of Clinton, Maryland; wife, Margaret Ann Baucum of Thomasville, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial service will be Thursday at 1:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service. Inurnment will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
