Obituary
Graveside service will be Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. Public viewing will be Monday from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
He was born May 11, 1935 in Davidson County to the late Lee Thomas Holmes and Ophelia Tillman Holmes. He served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Manuel Holmes, Thomas Bryce Holmes, Willard Holmes, Hulin Holmes and Joseph "Bud" Holmes and four sisters: Mildred H. Michael, Elizabeth H. Brown, Bettie "Tootsie" Neely and his twin, Eugenia "Pat" Hargrave.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Eugenia O. Burton of Virginia; a sister, Gail Winton; three sisters-in-law, Frances Holmes, Melvena R. Holmes and Annie Holmes and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
