Mrs. Eva McDuffie Hunter passed away on December 25, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born December 24, 1946 to Henry McDuffie and Dora Lee Myers McDuffie in Chadburn, NC.

Mrs. Eva retired from Dixie Furniture Plant 8. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church until her health began to decline. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie Hunter; a daughter, Kimberly Hunter and a son, Darwin McDuffie.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Curtis (Angela) McDuffie; a daughter, Angie McDuffie Fate; three adopted children: Jacques Hunter, Jasmine Hunter and Jacqueline Hunter; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry McDuffie and Tommy McDuffie; a sister, Gladys (Robert) Thornton; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia McDuffie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 1:00pm at Union Baptist Church with family visitation at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00-5:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
