Freda Phillips, 62, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest early Thursday morning, January 8, 2015 at her residence.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel at 1:00pm with family visitation a half hour before the service.
Freda was born February 14, 1952 to William and Aquilla Lee Folston Phillips in Miami, Florida.She attended and graduated from the local public schools.She was a longtime employee of Thomasville Furniture as a Professional Sprayer where she also served on the Safety Committee until the company closed in 2001.Freda then relocated to Winston-Salem and was employed with Flowers Bakery.Throughout her spiritual journey she was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Thankful Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee.She was faithful to the Lord, a hard worker and a devoted Mother.Freda kept an abundance of love for her children, grandkids and family.She was the BEST cook in the World and was known for her fried fish and her sweet potato pies!!She was preceded in death by her father and her sister Linda Carol Russaw.
She leaves to ponder and cherish her memory her mother: Aquilla Lee Folston Phillips of Johnson City, TN; three sons: Craig Phillips of Johnson City, TN, Robert Phillips and Zachary Phillips both of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted fianc, Robert Waymond Bailey of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister, Janice (JC) Phillips; two brothers: William Robert (June) Phillips, Jr. of Palm Coast, FL and Carl Franklin (Terry) Phillips of Johnson City, TN; seven grandchildren, three nieces, a special niece: Kim Craven; two nephews and other family and friends.
