Mr. Garry Bernard Roberts, 70, formerly of Holt St., passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Pine Acres Rehabilitation & Care Center in Lexington, North Carolina.

Motoe, as he was called by many, was born November 9, 1952 in Davidson County to William Caldwell Roberts and Phebia Ruth Cross Roberts. He attended the Lexington City Schools and was a graduate of Lexington Senior High School class on 1971. He retired from Lexington Furniture Industries. He was a faithful member of Files Chapel Baptist Church where he sang in the men's choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah Jean Roberts; and a brother, Dwight Roberts.

Motoe leaves to cherish his memory his son, Merrille Bernard Hopkins; two sisters, Patricia (Roy) Holt and Charlotte Roberts; an aunt, Floscene Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday at Noon at Files Chapel Baptist Church with family visitation at 11:30am. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery.
