Gary Woodberry, 81, affectionately known as "Uncle Barney," entered into eternal rest while at his residence on Grubb Road on February 19, 2022. He was the youngest son born to William Woodberry and Mattie Timmons Woodberry on December 13, 1940 in Davie County. He was a 1960 graduate of Dunbar High School and after 29 years of continuous service, he retired from PPG Industries. He was a faithful member of Yadkin Star Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board and sang on the Men's chorus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Will, Willis and Allen Woodberry and five sisters: Alberta W. Hunter, Evelyn W. Allison, Mary W. Cross, Mary Patterson and Louise Woodbury.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Clarissa White Woodberry; a son, Brent L. Woodberry; a loving sister, Katherine W. Hoover; sisters-in-law: Hallie C. Woodberry, Virginia H. Woodberry, Peggy F. Millen, Metha W. Fortune, Nannie (Benny) Owens, Louise White and Marian White; brothers-in-law, Percy (Audrey) White and John (Joyce) White and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates and friends.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at Yadkin Star Baptist Church at 2:00pm with family visitation at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
